How did he propose?  Answer is at the bottom of the page.
So which option do you think he used?
Option 1:  His friend escorted me into the chapel.  Lonestar’s “Amazed” was playing.  Candles burned along the aisle in the hands of our friends at Kunsan.  Sandi knelt at the far end of it.  Chris ushered me down to aisle to Sandi, who held my hands in both of his.  He spoke of his love for me and desire to be with me for a lifetime, then asked the Question.  I sat on his knee, wrapped my arms around him, and said, “Of course I will – yes.”
Option 2:  I drove to the chapel to pick Sandi up after his meetings and rehearsals.  He asked me to park the truck and come in for a second, so I did.  He led me to a seat in the waiting area and hit “play” on the VCR.  I watched a homemade video of Kunsan’s own version of Cinderella – but it’s a running race that is held instead of a ball.  The lost shoe was a running shoe, and of all the girls in the movie, not a single one fit the shoe.  So the star of the fairytale turned to me in my chair and stepped out of the screen to kneel in front of me.  He spoke of his loe for me and desire to be with me for a lifetime, then asked the Question.  I looked back into his eyes and said, "Yes."
Option 3:  I was tired at the end of a long day of briefing, flying, and debriefing in Red Flag, the huge airborne war gaming exercise north of Las Vegas.  It took me a moment to realize the red rose petals on the floor weren’t just spilled by the elevator – they continued down the hall.  In fact, they formed a distinct trail…that led to my own door.  I opened the door somewhat suspiciously.  The trail continued inside my room to the table where a small teddy bear sat holding a note directing me to squeeze him.  I knew what he’d ask, but was surprised by Sandi’s own voice asking, “Will you marry me?”  “Yes, I will, of course,” I replied smiling back at the bear, and reached for the phone to call my fiancé for the first time.
Option 4:  Eric was driving me home from the airport in El Paso.  Conversation between us two quiet people was strained so I was happier than usual when Sandi called.  After some preliminaries, he told me he was on his knee on the floor of his hooch at Kunsan as I moved at 80 miles an hour some 9,000 miles away.  He choked a little, apologized for having to use the phone, but finally gathered his courage and asked if I’d marry him.  “Of course,” I said.  He then asked me to slip the ring on which I happened to have in my backpack.  Eric never even noticed.
Option 5:  Joe a local cop met me at the operations desk and asked to speak to me.  I took him to my office and he proceeded to question me about one Richard John Douglass, also known as Sandi, Bush, Slick…  The line of questioning began in the alleged illegal procurement and transportation of precious metals and stones.  It wound through many such shady subjects and arrived at a specific gold ring with significant diamond mounted on it.  He asked if I was in possession of one such ring, supposedly “bought” by one RJ Douglass.  Then he asked if I’d be willing to put said ring on my own finger – and marry him.  I laughed, unspeakably thrilled by the turn of events, and said, “Yes, of course I will!”
Thanks to all of you who chimed in with your votes on how I (Sandi) proposed.  We got a good laugh out of some of them.

Believe it or not, each option was the plan at one point in time.  Each time I was ready to execute, events would intervene until God finally lined up all the stars.

With His green light, I wasted no time and knelt, on the phone from Korea to New Mexico, in the wee hours of the morning, to execute Option 4 :-)  Of course I also followed up with Option 2 once I could propose to Donna in person...there was no way I would rob her or me of the opportunity to express my love for her in person.

It was so much fun making the video and all of our friends had a blast helping out.  Seeing John Falco (5' 10" 230 lbs with a football player's build) in a Cinderella costume was simply priceless!!

The candles from Option 1 and the bear from Option 3 are back home with Donna.  My friend Joe is relieved he did not have to drive all the way to Alamogorgo and unlawfully detain Donna for Option 5 questioning :-)

Thank you again for playing...it was great to read all your guesses and reasoning!
